Northumberland SEND Information, Advice and Support Service

The name and remit of what was previously known as the Northumberland Parent Partnership Service has changed to meet the requirements of the new Code of Practice. It is now known as the Northumberland SEND Information, Advice and Support Service and covers children and young people (0 – 25 years) with SEND as well as their parents and carers. The information, advice and support provided now covers health and social care, as well as education.

Our aim is to help our service users to work in partnership with others, by:
·         Offering a listening ear and practical advice and support with understanding the SEND ‘system’
·         Helping them to express their views
·         Helping them to prepare for meetings and attending meetings with them if required
·         Helping with the paperwork
·         Helping them to explore the options for a child/young person’s SEND provision
·         Putting them in touch with other organisations and groups that can help them

We are a self-referral service and can be contacted by phone on 01670 623555 or by e-mail at alison.bravey@northumberland.gov.uk. The website can be found at http://www.northumberland.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=2178.
