The Extended Pathway is for pupils who benefit from a more subject-specific curriculum, with learning taught progressively through clearly sequenced individual subjects.
The pathway combines high expectations for academic achievement with personalised support, ensuring that pupils develop secure knowledge and skills while also growing in independence, confidence, communication and self-advocacy. Learning builds progressively over time, helping pupils make connections, deepen their understanding and apply what they have learned with increasing autonomy.
As pupils move through the school, the curriculum provides access to a broad range of qualifications, accreditation, vocational learning and preparation for adulthood, including pathways from Entry Level through to GCSE where appropriate. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil leaves Cleaswell Hill with meaningful achievements, greater independence and the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for their next stage of education, training, employment and adult life.
